Products Description

A neutral cure, premium performance silicone sealant, exclusively created for windows and doors, weather sealing and glazing application. It forms highly resistive weatherproof seal on windows and building facades.

Features & Benefits

1.Low VOC.
2.Neutral cure.
3.Adheres to most common window substrates.
4.Open time up to 15 minutes.
5.Pot life up to 24 hours at≤250°F(≤121℃).
6.Excellent clarity.
7.Service temperatures from -58 to 300℉ (-50 to 150℃).
8.Reduces silicone contamination and cleanup.
9.Can be used with standard XY glazing equipment and pumps.
10.Instant green strength delivers improved productivity in window assembly.
11.Long open time, pot life, and moderate application temperature (250℉ [121℃]) offer a user-friendly application.
12.Unique physical properties minimize contamination of window components during assembly composition.
13.Neutral (moisture) cure, 100 percent silicone, reactive hot-melt sealant.

Applications

YN-868 Neutral Window& Door Sealant is designed for use as a back bedding sealant in the assembly of windows and doors. It is used with high-speed XY glazing equipment to improve manufacturing productivity and window performance.
It can be used on most common window materials (wood, PVC,aluminum, fiberglass) for standard and impact-resistant glazing.
YN-868 Neutral Window& Door Sealant is also compatible with most common insulating glass sealants.

Instructions

1.Ensure that surfaces to be sealed are clean, dry and grease free.
2.The application temperature must be between +5℃ and +40℃.
3.In order to reduce the deformations of the joints, their depth must be much less than their width, minimum dimensions are 5x5 mm, for wider joints the depth should be preferably half of the width and it is adjusted by the use of a backup material.
4.After the application, the sealant must be tooled with light pressure within 5 minutes to spread the material against the joint surfaces and to obtain a professional finish.
5.Excess uncured sealant may be cleaned with solvent. Cured sealant can be removed barely mechanically.
6.Recommended joint widths are >10 mm and < 35 mm.
7. Joint width and depth ratio should be about 2:1.

Standards

Meets or exceeds the requirements of the following specifications:
1.The French VOC requirements for class A+.
2.ISO 11600 F&G 20LM.
3.CE marked for EN 15651 for façade, glazing and sanitary applications.
4.The requirements of VOC content specifications in LEED credit EQc4.1 "Low-emitting products" of SCAQMD rule 1168.

Restrictions

1.It must not be used in totally confined spaces where sealant cannot cure due to lack of atmospheric moisture.
2.Not over paintable.
3.Do not use in conjunction with bitumen asphalt, neoprene and certain organic elastomers.
4.It is not suitable for food contact applications.
5.Do not use to produce swimming pool joints.
6.Can yellow if exposed to bleach or HCL based brick clean-ers whilst curing.

Storage & Shelf Life

The shelf life is 15 months if stored in unopened-original package in a dry place at temperatures between +5℃ and +25℃.
